The Jazz Planet is an education programme devised between myself and Derby Jazz. It features two types of workshops, known as "Welcome to the Jazz Planet" and "Learning the Jazz Walk". These were started in response to a local demand from Schools in the Midlands but have now been leased out to other educational areas.

"Welcome to the Jazz Planet"

This is a 1 hour roadshow which features a trio plus animateur with the sole purpose of introducing children to the history and sound scapes of Jazz. The material can be tailored to the specific audience and age group.

"Learning the jazz walk"

This is a workshop where students take part in an interactive session to produce a work of music in a jazz style. It can involve musicians, vocalists and students with no prior musical experience. The level of this workshop is set accordingly.
